Canzo (Italy)

Saturday I had a good day-trip to Canzo.

Reach Canzo from Milan is very simple, just take a comfortable train from Cadorna and in just over an hour you arrived at your destination (cost around EUR 5).

Canzo is a beautiful village with typical houses and greenery, a country which alone deserves at least one visit.

Town of about 5000 inhabitants in the province of Como, Canzo attracts many visitors on Sunday for the beauty of its landscapes, but also for the beautiful walks that can be done on foot on the various mountain trails.

Canzo is in fact famous for the Horns of Canzo (horns, Curunghèj, Colonghej), three rocky peaks shaped horns.
Reach Canzo horns requires a walk of about two hours, in a path suitable for children ... or so said the various online guides, but if you do not know which path to follow (among many), you could end up doing a ' really tiring climbing, for which it would be better to be a little 'trained: p

After passing the town, you get to Gajum source, and from there depart the paths that lead to the Horns and the Alp or the mountain pastures where once lived shepherds and farmers.
Along the way you will find a beautiful church, near which you can fill your water bottles with fresh mountain water flowing out of a fountain.

As I said, if you do not choose the scenic route on the dirt road (the one suitable for children), climbing can be challenging (you need hiking boots), but the panorama once you reach the top is priceless (cit .)

Wanting then, if you're not tired, you might even decide to come down from the other side of the valley and finish in Lecco :)

Canzo with its horns is therefore a good day trip from Milan, an excellent alternative to spend a nice and sunny day on the mountain.

Reach the mountains by train from Milan is a very positive thing if you do not have a car, and walking there is quite wanting.
To all those who love walking so, I recommend this trip out of Milan by train (or car).
