Arinaga is a seaside resort of Gran Canaria (read my post on Gran Canaria), in the Canaries.
With its 9000 inhabitants, Arinaga is divided in two main areas, Cruz de Arinaga, the most residential and industrial, and Playa de Arinaga, the resort area.
How to get to Arinaga
Getting to Arinaga Playa de Ingles is very simple, just take the bus (guagua) number 25, which in 45 minutes takes you to your destination, Playa de Arinaga.
Once in Playa de Arinaga is possible to visit the city on foot, with its beautiful promenade, its beach, its sculptures, and the beautiful landscape that surrounds it.
But what strikes Arinaga, one that has made it famous all over the island, it is the wind.
Arinaga is in fact perhaps the windiest area of Gran Canaria, full of wind turbines and where every year take place the surfing championships at international level.
So if you're a surfer, Arinaga is the place for you, otherwise, you might not appreciate the wind, there is literally brings forth.
Below some videos for illustrative level.

Despite the wind, Arinaga is still a good holiday resort, a place a little 'less touristy and less chaotic than other parts of Gran Canaria, ideal for a half day trip.
