Telde (Gran Canaria, Canaries)

Tags

Continue my exploratory laps of Gran Canaria.
This time it was the city of Telde, in the northeast of the island.

Telde

Telde is the second largest city of Gran Canaria, an industrial town where it lacks virtually nothing, so ideal to live in, even if it is not on the sea.

How to get to Telde
I write it even if it is simple.
To get to Telde from Playa de Ingles by bus (guagua) just take the bus number 90 which in 40 minutes takes you to your destination (which also corresponds to the last stop).

Telde is not just a modern city with all the amenities, but it is also a city with a beautiful old town (do not miss the neighborhoods of San Juan, San Francisco, San Gregorio, and the outstanding street Calle Inés Chanida), the beautiful churches (Iglesia de San Francisco, Basilica de San Juan Bautista), interesting museums, and many many houses with typical Canarian colors ...
I know what you are about to say ... seen one, seen them all ... but no, every town of Gran Canaria has its why.

After making a nice round of Telde, peering on the navigator, I discovered the existence of two beautiful parks to visit, Parque Arnao and the Parque de San Juan. The latter, really big and well maintained.

Parque de San Juan

One thing that really struck me about Telde, is the presence of large crucifixes affixed in the walls of some houses ... you want to let him remove the ones :)

What about Telde ... a really nice surprise, and I think that I almost did not visit it.

Telde is a city that deserves a too little thought to the real estate level, in the sense that ... if you want to go and live in Gran Canaria, Telde might be the city that is right for you.
Not too far from the sea (by bus in a few minutes you get to Playa de Melenara), not too expensive, not too busy, not sloping, there is too much wind ... well, not look bad as a choice for the escape Italy  :)
