The Barranco del Infierno Tenerife (read my post on Tenerife), Canary is an ideal route for hikers.
Despite the ominous name, the "chasm of hell" is not a difficult path to deal with, even those who have a physical preparation large stroller can make it.
To cover the entire distance in fact, just an hour and a half to go, and even less to return (the road is the same).
The route alternates ascents to descents, never too steep or bumpy.
A hat for the sun, a bottle of water to quench their thirst and good trainers ... all it takes to tackle this route.
And do not be afraid from the helmet that provide you at the entrance, is just a precaution against any debris that may fall from the cliffs that surround some parts of the trail: p
To get to Barranco by public transport it is very simple.
Being in Adeje area, just take the bus 416 or bus 417 and get off at la constitucion, or 473 bus and get off at the stop and try.
These lines change it to los cristianos, las americas, costa adeje ... that is the main tourist resorts of the south of Tenerife.
The route is one of the most popular of Tenerife because of the beautiful panorama that can be enjoyed throughout the walk:
For this reason it is recommended to go early in the morning in order to enjoy the course without the presence of noisy groups of tourists.
The opening hours are from 8 to 18, but the last access allowed it to 16.
In addition, to preserve the environment, the park accepts a maximum of 300 visitors per day.
For this reason, during the high season it is to book well on the website (www.barrancodelinfierno.es/en/) in order to avoid making a wasted trip.
I went in low season and are entered without a reservation.
But we come to the painful side.
Once access to the park was free, then it switched to 3 € ... I paid 8 euro!
It is not a big figure, but in short, know that until not too long ago it was free ...
Some other technical data:
The entire route is 6.5km long and runs from an altitude of 300 meters up to about 1300.
The path is always open, except in the very rare days when there is heavy rain in Tenerife, because of possible slipperiness of the ground.
Along the way you will meet many species of plants and birds, and also some beautiful lizard:
The path is mostly in the sun, so do not forget the hat and, if desired, also put the sunscreen is not a bad idea.
Towards the end of the route the landscape changes, becoming more shady, with more water and with a consequent increase of the vegetation.
At the end of ritch you arrive at a beautiful waterfall:
After resting at the waterfall (only rested, cool off is forbidden), you go back by the same route.
Tired and a little 'hard-earned, at the end of the path you are happy hike made in the Barranco del Infierno.
Below a video playlist that I made on the spot and just below the link to the photo:
