Toulouse is a city of France, capital of the Midi-Pyrenees region.
Fifth and final leg of my journey France in August 2013, I got a train from Lourdes (read my post of Lourdes).
Nothing is missing in Toulouse: the classic old town, the shopping street, beautiful churches, sights, picturesque canals, majestic squares, and so on and so forth.
Despite the undoubted beauty of the city, I chose to go to Toulouse because it was a good starting point for a couple of day trips to do by train.
The first train trip I made in Carcassonne, the famous medieval city that each year attracts thousands and thousands of tourists.
But unfortunately, or we go early, or Carcassonne you'll always be in the crowd.
I personally I found it more charming from the outside, with its majestic walls that offer a postcard view, rather than from within.
Beautiful is beautiful, but there really are too many people!
The other day trip that I made starting by train from Toulouse was in Najac, a charming medieval village with a castle perched on a mountain ... not to be missed!
Below is some video I shot in Toulouse and throughout the rest of my vacation in France:

What about this my travel experience in France ... absolutely to be redone!
Unfortunately, due to time constraints, I had to discard several medieval villages that surely deserve a visit, so maybe in the future will organize another trip to discover the real France, but until then settle the photos I took in Toulouse au ... revoir!
