Saturday (November 21, 2015) I went for a day trip to Brussels.
The more observant of you will be thinking "still in Belgium?".
While the more informed will be thinking "but by Saturday you had to go?" ... But first things first!
I just wanted to visit Brussels already during my trip to Belgium in October, just planning everything according to the cheap flights schedules, there had been just the time material to also visit this city.
But never fear, it took a brief search on the internet to find suffered another flight to Brussels (44 euro round trip!).
But this time I opted for a trip the same day.
It was the first time I used this type of trip and I must say that in the end it was not a bad idea.
First with a flight in the day the hotel savings, then it's also fascinating to commute out of state: p
But we must find the flights that depart in the morning and come back in the evening.
These flights do not in fact have to start neither too early, nor too late, or otherwise you can not get to the airport on time or have too little time for sightseeing.
You also need to take into account also the journey to get to the airport (both outward and return), such as times and prices, and then make your accounts if you make the trip in a day it makes sense or not.
In this case it was the right choice and I'm glad I chose this type of trip.
Brussels is a beautiful city with several attractions to see such as: the Grand-Place (the big square), the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula, Notre Dame du Sablon, Les Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert, the Manneken Pis.
In particular, I wanted to focus on the Grand Place and the Manneken Pis.
The Grand-Place is considered one of the most beautiful squares in the world and perhaps the most beautiful square in Europe.
Here, let me say that it seems to me an exaggeration: p
It is pretty nice, but there is definitely better.
Also in the picture it is always full of flowers, and when i went there was nothing ... so it's easy to say that a square is the most beautiful of Europe only when it is embellished.
Below is the video that shows the whole square, judge for yourself :)

Manneken Pis is rather a normal statue / fountain depicting a boy peeing.
A statue for us, however, is insignificant to Brussels the symbol of its independence.
Legend has it that this child may have shut down, peeing, the fuse of a bomb that otherwise would burn the whole town.
Legend or truth is, this kid has become famous and has a representation in any form, from key rings to chocolate statue.
Of course there were also other attractions to visit in Brussels and I particularly wanted to see the Atomium (a famous monument made of giant spheres) and the Mini-Europe (a theme park where are played the most famous European monuments), unfortunately but I caught a bad day for Brussels.
Saturday fact the city has been reinforced because of ISIS terrorist threats, so that has been raised the alert level to 4 and subways and cinemas were closed, theaters, museums, etc ...
I think we made the averei in times to see these two attractions, just that no subway was everything more difficult, so we gave up.
I also found just a bad day for the time, I took water and snow all day!
But wanting to see the glass half full, I could make myself a long walking tour of the city, photographing also some detail that maybe I would not have found otherwise.
Well, and with Belgium's it, at least for this year: p
I leave you with the link to the album of photos taken in Brussels, the next one!
