After being in the beautiful Palawan (read my post on Palawan) and have traveled a lot, we treated ourselves to a relaxing holiday more famous island of the Philippines: Boracay.
Getting to Boracay to Palawan was a nice way: plane Puerto Princessa -> Cebu, Cebu Air -> Calibo, bus to Caticlan, Boracay ferry to ... and then of course taxi to the hotel :)
As it was the first time we went to the Philippines and especially in Boracay, we did not know if it would be easy to make all these movements, so we rely to a site (myboracayguide.com) who assisted us at every stage.
Feasible was also doable on your own, but so was everything less stressful :)
In Boracay we stayed at Orchids Resort, where we took a two-storey villa with sea view for only 125 € for 5 days.
Whereas Boracay is perhaps the most expensive island of the Philippines, the price does not seem bad, is not it?
It 'also true that we went in low season, so prices were all halved.
The island of Boracay has become famous only for a relatively short time, since some article has compiled a list with the most beautiful beaches in the world and among them there was also White Beach, the most famous beach in Boracay.
The 4 km of fine white sand justify the fame of White Beach.
But to be more famous island of the Philippines, however, also it has its flaws.
In the first place, even in low season the beach is never deserted as in other places I've visited.
Then it is nice that there is a long beach like our, with shops and stalls, but against which there is full of annoying people who constantly ask you if you want to buy something.
Also on the beach are a little quiet since there are constant requests from local to make you do a little 'healthy island hopping.
Having already traveled a lot in Palawan, we chose to enjoy the beauty of the island and not to make any trip out.
Consequently, also to escape the nuisance of White Beach, Boracay we shot most of, a little 'walk, a bit' with the motorcycle taxi.
Even in Boracay I found a good place for snorkeling, so I could try my hand in underwater photography, with results more or less acceptable :)
Among other things, I had brought my camera with an expensive how uncomfortable Underwater Bag bought years before, but then I bought the island of waterproof envelopes door phone and with those I was able to take pictures under water directly with my smartphone!
In Boracay it is also a nice vantage point from which to admire the island from where you can also wanting to see the sunset.
But what they do not tell you when you pay your ticket and salts, it is that if you wait for the sunset then you have to walk back down the dark ... so bring a torch!
Among other things in the isolated area where there is the viewpoint we arrived by taxi, but not having told the taxi driver to expect, then we had to make all the dark street and the walk back alone :)
